THE DYING OF THE LIGHT

A series that portrays my search for situations that provide me with an ‘unheimlich’ feeling; the sense that something is off. Most of these works were created at night, when the unseen awakens. But photos shot in the daylight turn out to fit in seamlessly with them. Searching for the hidden mystique. 2022 – 2023

MISCELLENEA

Even though I surround myself with them, I find myself looking at digital images of plants more often than I look at actual plants. And by ‘look’ I mean more than just taking a glimpse. I mean observing their details, their uniqueness, really taking in their essence. There is something inherently unnatural about putting small excerpts of nature in plant pots and putting them on display. It’s like puzzle pieces of different images being forced together. Most times the composition it creates is just an awkward reminder that soil and concrete don’t combine. Sometimes though, I see a beautiful mosaic. 2018 – 2022

LUWTE

KAMMERSPIELE

The world often appears staged to me. People follow their daily routines as if their agenda was a screenplay. Stand still in a crowded place and you quickly see the patterns emerge. They lead nowhere, though. Everybody would like to play the main role in his life, but nobody fits the part. The truth is we´re just not good enough actors. We´re not exactly a good audience either, peaking behind the scenes whenever we get the chance. The more sight, the less insight. It´s funny we wonder so much about the things we don´t understand. It´s obvious, what´s behind the curtain just isn´t meant to be seen. 2020 – 2021
